Primary Classroom Teacher

• Ongoing full-time position
• 1 day per week release time for professional planning and preparation!
• Commence Term 1 2025

The Role:

Cheshire School, an interim special assistance school, is seeking a dynamic and motivated classroom teacher to join our dedicated team. As a teacher at Cheshire School, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to students who have significant social, emotional and behavioural challenges. Your role will be to support and guide these students towards success, using innovative and engaging teaching methods and a strong sense of empathy.

You will work collaboratively with the school's multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student, ensuring that their academic, social, and emotional needs are met.

• Have the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the unique needs of each student
• Are highly motivated and have a strong passion for working with students who require extra support and are motivated to encourage them to achieve their fullest potential

• Have a positive attitude and a commitment to building relationships and students' self-esteem and resilience 

In addition to the above you will need the following to be considered for this role:

• A Bachelor of Education (Primary) or equivalent qualification
• Have current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
• Experience working with children with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and experience designing and delivering differentiated lessons
• Ability to implement and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong behaviour management skills and experience creating a positive and supportive classroom environment
